CONTACT: 3rd Stone Third Stone are a Cumbrian duo who have been playing and singing together since 1978, and have toured extensively in Britain, France, Holland, Germany, and Switzerland in various bands, and are both founder members of the legendary Lakes Blues Band.

They started to call themselves Third Stone in 1996, and recorded their first two albums under that name, "Third Stone",and "Get Reel" at Southlake Studios. These set the tone of their performances, in that they are as at home playing Celtic dance tunes as they are playing the Blues, or their own contemporary songs. Juliet is a remarkable singer and her talent is amply displayed not only on the "Third Stone" album, but also on the Lakes Blues Band's "We-ay-ee-oh",their collection of original songs on which she supplies all the lead vocals. She can also be heard singing on Mike Willoughby's last album "Crimson Trophies".With Third Stone she plays guitar, mandolin, clarinet, whistle, and percussion. Ewan has also been singing and playing professionally for many years, and his harmonica and slide guitar playing has a style of its own, although firmly rooted in the traditions of electric and acoustic blues. He recently toured with the remarkable Professor Washboard of Arkansas U.S.A.,probably the finest contemporary blues washboard player working today, and Blues/Zydeco/TexMex accordion wizard "Flaky Jake",with whom he has collaborated on and off since 1985.However his musical origins also include British traditional music, and he is featured on mandolin, and percussion on the "Get Reel" album. Based in Coniston in the heart of the English Lake District, they are an original and essential part of the local music scene,as well as being ambassadors of Cumbrian contemporary roots music to the rest of Great Britain and Europe.
