Hidden deep in the English Lakes, beneath towering mountains lies the village of Coniston, an unlikely place you may think, to find a rock n roll band.

The Band may be a long way from the epicentre of the British music scene and  the M6 but this isolation has let them develop their own unique style.

The Lakes blues band have always strived to dig a little deeper into their musical heritage, to find those songs with that special X factor, but were perhaps missed the first time around. They're repotoire now runs into hundreds of songs including many original songs written by Colin or Ewan
.
Although the band began as a blues band, and at its core it still is, over the years they have introduced many other aspects of roots music into their repotoire
Nowadays the band will slip easily from Elmore James to Bob Marley, take in a little cajun on the way,  and leave the audience exhausted with some African rhythms
before calming down with a slow country ballad.

Lots of good old rock n roll to finish the evening, the bands joy of playing together always spills over into the audience and a splendid time is guarenteed for all.

Review of Their second album, in the local press

It's impossible not to get carried along with the obvious joy the band creates that soon spills over into the audience.
