Ford Park is a community group set up to develop Ford Park house and grounds for the community of Ulverston. Plans include building a skateboard park, a playground, a band stand, sensory garden trail,
and refurbishing the Victorian garden and orchard.
The studio is another aspect of the development , and will become a valuable resourse for the towns music community. The long term plans could even include a venue for bands, using the large live room that is now being used for the studio. Plans like this are a way off yet, but there is a real possibility for the future. In the mean time the coach house is now up and running as a rehearsal and recording facility, so why not give us a call or just drop by and see what's on offer.
The coach house has extensive views across Morecambe Bay to the Pennines which can be seen from the live room which is 30' x 18'.The control room is 16' x 16' and is equipped with Digital and anologue machines

Hope and Anchor Songwriters on Monday

The last Monday in 2002  Mary  songs           Roseys' song

Every Monday night at the Hope and Anchor in Ulverston a gathering of songwriters from around  South lakeland and Furness gather to play acoustic versions of tunes wot they have writ.
There is no set order to the evening and its just a turn up and play a couple of tunes.
Every week is different, and it serves to showcase all these songs that might have stayed in drawers.
The atmosphere is lively and loose with none of the hallowed silence of a folk club and is often punctuated with banter between the artist and the audience. After 9 months we have built up a regular audience who are knowlegeable and sympathetic to all the songwriters that appear. Some come to sing their songs for the first time to a live audience, others come to trail songs before playing them with their band. It's a great night so if you haven't been, come along and sample the delights of your local songwriters.
Below are some tunes from our summer sessions in the garden recorded on our new 8 track digital mobile mobile recording unit.
